Our primary school program is based on the National + international Basic Curriculum.
This program is usually for children who are 5 to 11 years old. It is a world-class curriculum to develop learners' skills and understanding in English, Maths, and Science. It allows teachers to assess children's learning as they progress through courses with an introduction to English in the school setting and the Leaving Elementary School Exam.
Main Subjects
The main subjects include English, Mathematics, Chinese Science and Indonesian. This subject is evaluated through formative and summative examinations. Basic Courses or Basic Curriculum also include assessed subjects. The judges assessed include Physical Education, Arts and Crafts, Computer Science, Building Faith and First Character, PPKn, Music.
Students applying to the Carnegie School are required to take an appropriate Placement Test that evaluates their readiness for the appropriate level.
In addition, their learning journey offers them the rigor, opportunity, and skills to make a difference as a global citizen who is a critical thinker, a person of integrity, and a future leader.
The Carnegie School is also very attentive to the needs of our students as we move forward. We improve our Project Work component in the form of Global Perspectives, Design to Think and work with the Sustainable Development Goals at the Foundation Stage. When students reach the age of 9 and above, they are guided through weekly lessons to understand and acquire the skills to work on problem-solving and think out of the box.
Students are also exposed to Life-skills that are necessary and useful. This gives another perspective to value add to their reportof opportunities to enjoy and expolre how they could serve their community and the world at large.
The SD are 17 goals defined by the United Nations to tackle the world’s biggest problems by 2030.
We teach our students SDGs at a very young age to ensure all students acquire the theoretical and practical knowledge necessary to promote sustainable development.
